tabloids

Madonna I will readily admit to reading the titles of tabloids while standing in line at the grocery store. I nearly gagged today when I read this one......

Seriously? Not that I'd want her going after a RedSox player, but ARod? ARod?!?

wednesday already?

Videololoack! the week's half over already! how'd that happen?

Today's been all about laundry and Wii Baseball. This pic of LoLo cracked us up!

While Kevin yells at the digital Rangers, I'm making a grocery list for this weekend. He's had some insane nights at work since we got home, so this weekend will be about chilling out and catching up around here. I'm hoping to try a couple of new recipes this weekend, so I'm going to try to avoid the majority of the holiday crazies by going shopping early in the morning.

Oh! And cropping this weekend, too. Gotta get pics printed!

July 1st

At some point today it clicked in my head that today is July 1st. Good grief, where has this year gone? It's been a pretty busy year so far, with more excitement to come in the next couple of months. Also hoping to sneak down to the beach house for a quiet weekend soon.

Had lunch with my buddy Meghan today. Always good to ramble and laugh with her.  Needed a new prayer/gratitudes journal, so we headed to a nearby Barnes & Noble. Found a super cute little journal by a great company called eco*jot. After that we headed to Michaels to see what kind of trouble we could get into. We got into plenty! :)

A seriously unexciting day, but I've gotta blog about it anyway, lest Kelly beat me at this everyday thing! ;)

a case of the Mondays

new

Unlike my buddy Kel, I've got a case of the Mondays!!

How have we been home from our trip for a week already? (Ok, technically we got home on Tuesday in the very wee hours since our flight left Logan late, so maybe I can get everything done in the next 12 hours and say I got it done within a week of getting home? ;)) There's still laundry to be done (and put away---my least favorite part!) grocery shopping to do, a trip to Costco is much needed, emails to get caught up on, and put away all the goodies I bought in NYC and Boston. Oh crud! And I need to fed-ex the pub contract that could have been regular mailed out last week. Ack!

I've challenged Kelly to updating our blogs every day for the month of July. We've got a really busy month ahead, so I'll mostly be recapping our trip, with a bit of randomness thrown in for good measure. I also have a couple of crops to attend this month, so hopefully a few pages thrown in for good measure, too.

So, on that note.........what's everyone's plans for the 4th of July?

new one here

blog challenge/vacation quiz/giveaway*

Ok, first order of business..........

A blog challenge.  The simple part is this....blog everyday in July. Every.day! The story behind it....I'm always giving my buddy Kelly crap about her lack of consistent blogging. And yes, I can pick on her for being inconsistent because until this week the woman hadnt blogged since October. October, people! She didnt even blog about the greatest team on Earth winning another World Series! Hello! So...this weekend while we were in Boston, the challenge was issued. Blog everyday for a month. She claims she's going to post "hey april---I blogged" and that'll count as her daily blogging! :P Anyone is welcome to join us. Especially you fellow slackers (and you know who you are!) ;)

Second.......

I got to go to one of the coolest stores ever this weekend. I literally screamed when the woman behind the counter told us they're opening one in Dallas soon! Kelly told her not to tell me that because then I'd never come back to Boston. There's always the RedSox, dear, there's always the RedSox! :) I had way too much fun shopping there and thought yall should get to experience the fun, too! So.........The first person to accurately answer the following pop quiz will get a $50 gift certificate to PaperSource. Email me your answers!

*No Val, I'm not giving away a vacation, so dont even ask! :P (But you're welcome to come to Houston anytime, babe!)

The Quiz.........

1) Which Broadway play did we see in NYC?

a) Little Mermaid

b) Phantom of the Opera

c) Sunday in the Park with George

2) What two demands did I have for our NYC trip?

a) a trip to Tiffanys and Tinsel Trading Company

b) to call my dad from someplace cool on Father's Day and see the Imagine marker in Central Park

c) a trip to Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium

3) What comforts of home did I miss the most?

a) our bed

b) our boys

c) my laptop

4) What was at the top of list of demands for Boston?

a) Build a Bear

b) Boston Beer Works

c) Mike's Pastry

5) How many pics did I take? (of the whole trip)

a) less than a thousand

b) right around two thousand

c) more than 3 thousand

OK, yall have til July 4th to guess.

Have a great weekend! Busy weekend around here. The RedSox are in town! I'll be back to start the daily blogging on July 1st.

chick flicks

Kevin was working late last night, so I decided to grab a chick flick. Lots of great previews......

The Accidental Husband---- Colin Firth AND Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Mamma Mia---Would love to see this on Broadway someday!

The Women--I think I'm going to try to round up a girls night out for all the girls in my family when this one comes out!

Nights in Rondanthe----Looks good, despite being a Nicholas Sparks spin off

Australia---This is so not my kind of movie, but it's got two of my favorite Australians, and is directed by Baz, so it's bound to be good!

Have you seen any good chick flicks lately?

where do I start?

I want to post about our trip, but I cant figure out where to start! NYC? that's several posts in itself! Hanging out in upstate NY while Kevin was in school. Oh wait, I did absolutely, positively NOTHING on those days. Boston? Oh man, I could write for weeks on Boston. Hanging out with Kelly and RandomStan. First trip to Fenway. Breakfast with the Palmers. Picnic in the Park. Getting Tek's autograph. Walking on the field (barefoot!! shhh!!) at Fenway. Actually touching the Green Monstah. Hanging out at Fanueil Hall with my sweety. It was all just way too fabulous and way too fast!

I'm making a list and going through pics. Lots of posts, a vacation quiz/contest, and a blog challenge, soon.

home

Got home late last night. Too late to pick up the boys. Missed them OODLES! Lots going on around here the next few days. Mostly catching up on two weeks worth of laundry, grocery shopping, two weeks of mail, two weeks worth of pictures and awesome memories to organize, two weeks of snuggling my boys! It sounds like both boys got spoiled rotten----my MIL and Uncle both commented that it was their job to spoil the boys rotten, and my job to fix it when I got home. Great! :P Hope everyone's had a great two weeks. I didnt take my computer with me, and while I missed being in touch with everyone, it was nice to be disconnected for a while. Very refreshing. Hope all the posts I set for auto publish posted ok. Typepad was being really funny (and not haha funny) when I left for Boston. Back soon to tell you all about our fabulous trip!!

p.s. My RedSox girls will appreciate this.........my parents picked us up from the airport last night (felt really bad about this, as we were delayed at Logan, but really grateful because we were both exhausted from our long day!) After we got all our luggage loaded in the SUV (we mailed home four boxes of stuff and had to buy an extra suitcase to get home---I may have had a little fun buying authentic RedSox stuff!) my mom proceeds to tell me "Hey while we were waiting for yall, I watched some of the RedSox game since I knew you'd want to know the score when you landed......Youkelele or whatever his name is got popped in the face and had to be taken to the hospital for a CTScan". Kevin and I were cracking UP at the "Youkelele" part. I said "Mom, his name is Youkilis" Kevin said "But you can call him Yoooooooooooooooouk!" :) Glad Youk is ok!
